Summer 2003
Bank Of England
The refurbishment of the Bank of England was a phased and rolling contract carried out over 3 years involving the complete strip out of all floor levels, including the removal of all non structural items right back to reveal the fabric of the main structure. While a particular floor was being stripped out, all other floors were to continue functioning as normal which meant reducing noise, dust, vibration and all other disturbances to an absolute minimum. The works were carried out under the management of Heery International, with a cumulative value of £2,160.896.00.
Summer 2002
Grants of Croydon
This £2M contract involved the demolition of a dangerously decayed structure while upholding the main facades. The town centre location, close proximity of other structures, including a busy market place, considerable volumes of asbestos and vermin infestation added to the complexities. The contract was carried out without incident over a 36 week period.
Summer 2001
UCLH
This £2M contract involved the disassembly of two tower blocks, one 18 storey, the other 23, together with a medium rise link block as a prelude to the building of the new university college hospital by the BCJV PFI Joint Venture Group. Over a nine month period, asbestos was removed, perimeter walls shored up, and the structure removed using small machines on a floor by floor basis, assisted by a tower crane and followed up by long reach excavators. This project was successfully completed with minimal disturbance in one of the capitals busiest locations.
Summer 1998/2005
Cathall Road Leytonstone
This £9.8M contract carried out over a six year rolling program, involved the disassembly of thirteen 9 storey tower blocks, the works were carried out by use of tower crane and mini excavations fitted with pulverisor attachments on a floor by floor basis,long reach excavators completed the demolition of the remaining structures down to ground. Prior to and demolition commencing, enabling works entailed erection of fire escape staircases, and service diversions. The project was successfully completed on time and on budget.
